employees
We offer a yearly employee voluntary scheme open to all our staff. The scheme allows our employees to take time off work to help on a range of voluntary projects from conservation, to developing young people’s skills, as well as helping to get the unemployed back into work. The schemes give many charities the opportunity to receive valued help and support from our staff.
Our work with a number of national causes including the Lea Valley, Refugee Council, Midland Heart and Street League has ranged from; organising football matches for the disadvantaged, providing CV writing courses, helping refugees into employment, improving nature reserves and redecorating the homes of vulnerable London residents. With around 79% uptake, the employee voluntary scheme equates to around 1,428 hours of volunteering per year.
charity work
Many charities are fortunate enough to be well recognised and supported but there are those that maybe smaller who generally receive less attention which makes it harder to raise much needed funding and backing. This is why we are proud to support The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign through a series of initiatives:
- we have provided work experience at our offices for those affected by Muscular Dystrophy looking to gain experience in the workplace
- during an annual charity week we donated £200 for every placement we make during that period
- teams of employees are helping to lay a pathway to enable access for powered wheelchairs to a neuromuscular centre
- we ask for £10 from all clients attending our free seminars as a donation and have raised in excess of £2,000 so far
environmental
We recognise that as a business our operations can impact the local, regional and global environment. In light of this, we are committed to continuous improvements in environmental performance and the prevention of pollution. We have implemented a company policy to ensure all our practices as a business are environmentally sound in order to minimise our impact on the environment.
We have provided much support to Lea Valley in providing conservation work and support to the region.
