Job description

The YMCA St Paul's Group are looking to recruit a Assistant Key Worker on a fixed term contract until May 2022.

The post will be 40 hours per week on a shift pattern rota that changes each week, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

To be successful in this role, you will provide a warm welcome and information point to all residents, guests, members as well as to any telephone and email enquirers to the Association. To assist the smooth running of the centre, particularly controlling people traffic in the reception areas and to provide support to the Centre.

Responsibilities include:

  • welcoming all persons arriving at the building, providing information on services/facilities available, and passing enquiries on to other staff as appropriate.
  • maintain accurate receipting and accounting of all monies and credit transactions taken whilst on duty, checking floats and reconciling till at end of shift.
  • Undertake bookings and fee receipt transactions for Health & Well-being and Family Work Departments, Release counsel (membership, classes, fitness, and childcare).
  • operate the switchboard, take, and pass on messages as required.

Applicants should have:

  • Experience of cash handling, credit card transactions, and reconciling tills
  • Experience of working in an environment providing a service to the public
  • Good IT skills
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety
