Building Services & Energy Manager

Morgan Hunt is delighted to be partnering with a public sector organisation in Edinburgh in their search for Building Services & Energy Manager on a permanent basis.

Duties and Responsibilities (Includes but not limited to)

The Building Services and Energy Manager Role will support the Head of Estates in the strategic management and operational delivery of all building services related systems and activities required to ensure a safe and compliant environment for the collections, staff and visitors.

Some of the key duties of this role will include:

  • Provide active support to the Head of Estates in the strategic development and planning of all building services related works and activities and work in a collaborative and/or on a leadership basis with other departmental managers to meet key objectives.
  • Lead in the operational management of all related building services systems and activities across the estate.
  • Method Statements and where required issuing relevant permit to work.
  • Manage, develop, maintain and monitor the client's new Environmental Energy Platform.
  • Manage, develop and report monthly on the collections environmental conditions.
  • Research, prepare reports and advise on energy consumption and implement energy efficiency initiatives to continually drive improvement in the reduction of energy and CO2 emissions consumption and footprint.
  • Manage and oversee contractors on-site reviewing and agreeing all work related to Risk and
  • Assist and contribute information for inclusion within the Property Asset Management
  • Plan (PAMP).
  • Take responsibility for sub-delegated budgets.
  • Manage directly the delivery of all building services operational and maintenance major and minor works projects involving plant, equipment and related systems across the estate.
  • Assist Project Teams (Internal/External) in the management, specification and delivery of building services related works to achieve required levels of service delivery

Qualifications & Skills

  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship from a building services related discipline
  • Extensive experience maintaining operational environmental conditions (i.e. Temperature & Humidity) to set parameters and budget within buildings
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form strong working relationship and the ability to work with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of building services and energy reduction systems, contracts and regulations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Building Management Systems
