Head of Housing and Community
Morgan Hunt are working with a Housing organisation who are recruiting for a Head of Housing and Community to join their organisation in East London.
Location: East London
Salary: £62,500 - £66,000
Contract: Permanent
Responsibilities of Head of Housing and Community:
· Provide leadership across neighbourhood management services, to provide clear, visible, and effective leadership aligned to our values and mission statement. To provide customer focused and cost-effective services across a range of housing, estate management, resident engagement, and community investment functions. To ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. · Resident engagement including local events, conferences and the management of local resident estate management boards and forums. · The regeneration of local communities through the provision of professionally managed community centres. · To effectively manage the local housing centres and estate services teams to achieve high level tenant and leaseholder satisfaction in both service delivery and customer care. · To effectively manage local community centres to maximum usage and income generation through effective marketing and publicity. · To be responsible for resident engagement including the management of local planned events, conferences, and the effective functioning of local boards. · Actively engage residents when setting, reviewing, and monitoring service strategies and standards to drive continuous improvement · To support the work of Homeownership Forum. · To work closely with the Deputy Managing Director and Executive Management Team and other managers to achieve external service accreditations. · To lead on TPAS Accreditation · To undertake service reviews, introduce service development and improvement plans and ensure their effective implementation. · To lead on the review and implementation of housing management procedures and support other managers to implement procedures and policies which deliver the objective set out in the corporate plan. · To ensure that Neighbourhood Housing Managers are effectively delivering the housing management and repairs service in accordance with agreed service standards, procedures, and guidelines. |
· To maintain an in-depth knowledge of all relevant legislation with respect to the areas of responsibility. · To be responsible for the overall budget allocated to local housing centres, estate services, community centres and resident engagement. · To prepare and present reports to Executive Management Team, Board committee, forums and Tenant and Resident Associations (TRAs) |

The NHF is the voice of housing associations in England. The Director of Policy and Research is a key leadership role at the NHF responsible for the development and delivery of policy and research in support of our overall strategy.
You will lead a talented and experienced team to shape policy at a national level, working with senior officials across national and local government, and provide direction to our work across a range of areas including rent policy, quality and decency, net zero and homelessness.
You will be a member of the NHF’s leadership team and work closely with our members and Board.
What you’ll do:
• Lead and support the development of the NHF’s strategic policy making across a range of complex areas.
• Drive an ambitious research agenda to ensure our influencing work is evidence based and compelling.
• Build a broad range of relationships at senior levels across government departments and with partner organisations.
• Support a highly responsive and agile policy making function, that can adapt to changing government priorities and external pressures.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with leaders from across our membership, securing insight and support for our positions.
• Identify and manage strategic risks, working closely with colleagues and the board.
• Provide high quality professional support and advice to NHF members in relation to policy and strategy.
• Act as a member of the NHF leadership team (SMT), working with the Chief Executive and LT colleagues to deliver wider organisational goals.
• Act as a spokesperson for the NHF in the media and in high profile political settings including select committee inquiries.
About you:
• An extensive track record of developing successful policy in complex and/or highly regulated areas.
• Highly effective influencing skills and experience of developing senior relationships across a range of stakeholders and partners.
• A strong understanding of housing policy at a national level.
• A strong knowledge of the relevant legislative frameworks and processes
• Experience of commissioning external research and strategic advice.
• Significant experience of leading and managing staff and teams.
• Excellent organisational skills, including prioritising workloads, managing others and working under pressure to achieve tight deadlines.

Restore Practitioners will work in teams based in each of the 12 residential flats at Oasis Restore, taking primary responsibility for the children living in this flat and working within an inter-disciplinary team around each child.
You will benefit from a comprehensive system of training, supervision and reflective practice designed to empower you in your work individually and as a team, allowing you to connect with colleagues about your experience of the work to enable you to give your best and effectively support children and meet their needs. You will work within a team which includes experienced social care managers and therapists as well as working with teaching staff to support the children’s engagement in education and wider school activities. You will play an active role in the school’s enrichment programme, delivering sessions which promote the development of the whole child.
