Business Development Manager

 

Job Description

Morgan Hunt is working with a nation wide Homelessness Charity in search of a Business Development Managers to join the organisation and be Responsible for generating statutory income, playing a crucial part in linking the right funding opportunities with the right Services and helping the team achieve its income target.

The role is offered on permanent basis working form home or from the London office on the salary of £42,303 plus London Weighting of £5023 if applicable.

Key responsibilities of the new Business Development Manager:

  • Proactively build a pipeline of statutory income opportunities for allocated business areas e.g. Services for professionals, Justice, Telephone and Online Advice Services.
  • Leading on the development of high-quality, strategically aligned propositions.
  • Preparing for tender activity (attending market engagement events, developing service models in partnership with colleagues, costing services)
  • Supporting the Business Development Team to achieve the income target including supporting the preparation and completion of colleague\'s proposals and tenders
  • Maintaining and continuously improving knowledge and insight of the wider external markets and environment to identify key trends, risks and opportunities in relation to Services and statutory funding opportunities.
  • Engaging in strategic projects and planning activities in relevant business areas and the wider organisation.
  • Representing the organisation externally through engagement with partners and influencing commissioners.
  • Liaising and negotiating with partners

    Previous experience and skills of the new Business Development Manager:
  • Experience of generating statutory income from sources including local authorities and central government.
  • Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and processes in the third sector and experience of effectively applying these in practice.
  • Highly experienced in writing bids for a statutory audience and experienced in influencing commissioners.
  • Skilled in writing clearly, concisely and accurately, drawing on a range of evidence to produce compelling content for reports, tenders and proposals.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective external partners and commissioners.
  • Be able to manage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be able to work independently, managing and prioritising your own workload and making informed decisions regarding your prospects and projects.

    • Manage caseload effectively and efficiently
    • Initially review liability, quantum and Claimant Solicitor conduct before devising a strategy for continued handling;
    • Handle cases to conclusion including instructing investigators, posing Part 35 questions, instructing Counsel and making Part 36 offers;
    • Complete client and firm MI procedures
    • Comply with client SLAs, e-manual and local claims handling requirements
    • Achieve set chargeable hours and financial targets
    • Comply with Data Protection Procedures

    About You

    Ideally, you will have some experience of dealing with motor/litigated claims and a genuine interest in the above area of work. As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks. It would be preferable for you to have:

    • Experience of handling/assisting a case load of litigated motor files, within the small claims and fast track, preferably as a Defendant
    • Knowledge of CPR
    • Ability to work to meet deadlines and hit targets
    • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
    • Excellent communication skills

    We have an exciting Temporary opportunity available for a Part Time HR Administrator to join a Regulatory Body based in Birmingham. Part time hours 20-24 hours per week, paying between £12 - £13 per hour, hybrid working.

    Role

    HR Administrator will play a key role in assisting the People Hub.

    • Responding to queries from the email inbox
    • Helping to making changes to HR records and resetting passwords.
