Policy Manager

Morgan Hunt is currently working with a Membership organisation that champions careers within STEM. As a Policy Manager you will be responsible for delivering their organisational policy positions, producing reports and responses to government consultation, and working with stakeholders internally & externally.

Location: Central London (Hybrid working - 1-2 days on site)
Contract: 12 months, part-time (3-4 days per week) with the possibility of extension
Salary: £42,000 - £46,000 (pro-rata'd for Part Time)

Key Responsibilities:

• As a Policy Manager you will lead the development of policy priorities on education and skills, focusing on issues like apprenticeships, STEM teacher shortages, and curriculum reviews.
• Draft policy reports and responses to government consultations.
• Engage with stakeholders across the engineering, technology, and education sectors to drive cooperative projects.
• Work closely with the Public Affairs Advisor and other colleagues to communicate our messages to government.
• Represent the organisation in external meetings and on collaborative projects.

Experience Required:

• Demonstrable experience in developing policy positions, drafting reports, and leading policy engagement with government stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for various audiences.
• Proven experience in stakeholder management and engaging with diverse sectors and organisations.
• Strong understanding of the education and skills landscape in England and the associated political environment.
• Proven ability to lead projects, work independently, and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
