Assistant Financial Accountant
Morgan Hunt is working with a College in North London who are looking at recruiting a Assistant Financial Accountant. This is a 3 month contract role paying up to £21 p/hour and will be hybrid.
Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:
- Support the Finance Manager to ensure robust controls and timely, accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Assist the Finance team with various tasks, including payroll, cash allocations for student fees, and debt collection.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, petty cash records, and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial figures in the finance system and through spreadsheet analyses.
- Prepare adjustment journals to reconcile general ledger balances with sub ledger balances.
- Work closely with Customer Services to reconcile student fees, loans, and manage debt collections.
Previous Skills and Experience of the Accounts Assistant:
- - Minimum AAT qualified.
- - Assisting with the preparation of journals, financial accounts and year end audits.
- - Knowledge of pensions.
- - Solid technical knowledge of management, financial, statutory accounting requirements and of general accounting, including ledger work through to I&E and BS, including analysis.
- - Holding an enhanced DBS is ideal.
