Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Associate Director Of Facilities to be based on the Tooting Site of City St George's University (SW17 0QT.)

12 month fixed term role @ £80-85k

This role is based on the campus of City St Georges University of London, Tooting Campus, with occasional meetings at City St Georges Clerkenwell Campus. It requires the physical presence on site and is not a hybrid role and does not support remote working.

Responsible for

Helpdesk / Reception / Switchboard, Security, BCP, Domestic Contract, Site Services, Customer Services

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To lead all Facilities Services responsibilities (as detailed above) in a professional and proactive manner, ensuring that all service levels and performance measurement targets are set and achieved on a regular basis.
  • To work with the Director of Estates & Facilities and Deputy Director of Site services to provide a customer-focused value driven service to support the University.
  • To provide comprehensive and robust financial management, and budgetary control.
  • To lead on relationship building with external stakeholder and team building internally to improve and sustain high levels of student and staff satisfaction.
  • To ensure the operational management of Cleaning and Security outsourced services are maintained to the highest possible levels.
  • To work alongside the Head of Contracts to find opportunities for savings, quality improvements and efficiencies with major outsourced contracts.
  • To provide operational contract management for major FM contracts.
  • To develop the cleaning and security strategies, performance specifications, delivery programmes, tender documentation and lead on the procurement for external contractors to achieve value for money.
  • To ensure compliance with Legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice relating to facilities management and the Universities Financial Regulations.
  • To line manage help desk, back office and property and FM staff.
  • To be responsible for the management of the residential hall of residence.
  • To plan and lead the upgrade of the CAFM, system for estates services at City St Georges including working with IT and Digital colleague on the integration project.
  • Seek advice and input from the Associate Director of Safety, health and environment with regards to safe and effective operation of services within the soft FM portfolio.
