IT Systems Engineer

As an IT Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud applications, servers, storage, and network equipment
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, performance, and security
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and provide 2nd and 3rd level support
• Liaise with vendors, suppliers, developers, and other IT personnel for problem resolution and project delivery
• Create and maintain documentation, schematics, backups, and scripts
• Train IT staff and users on system functionality and best practices

To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments
• Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX)
• Solid cloud experience, preferably in AWS
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Bash)
• Familiarity with IT standards and frameworks (e.g., ITIL, ISO 27001)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
