The Motor Vehicle lecturer will need to have:

  • A relevant degree or vocational automotive qualification
  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience of delivering automotive courses at Level 1 to Level 3
  • A strong understanding of the automotive industry, including current trends, legislation, and best practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from a range of backgrounds

    Our Student Services team cover a broad range of cross-college initiatives. All aspects of the student journey, from pre-entry to post-exit, are impacted by the Teams’ work. From initial contact and marketing/information, advice and guidance delivery, they support all students to maximise their potential.

    The Careers team provide IAG to student’s through drop in or 1-2-1 appointments, as well as through sessions requested by tutors on their courses. The team provide progression advice regarding next steps which could include College Course Progression, Higher Education, Apprenticeships and Employment. As Careers Adviser, you will provide effective impartial information, advice and guidance regarding future study and career choices.

    We’re looking for someone who has achieved a Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification, however, we are also willing to consider applications from those who would like to train as qualified Careers Advisers and who already hold a Level 4 IAG qualification with experience of delivering 1-2-1 IAG and group work sessions.

    With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will be able to provide a professional service whilst understanding the needs for discretion and confidentiality. You should have good general IT skills to effectively market and record all service provision and have working knowledge of the UCAS application process.

    Department delivering ESOL and Maths Skills courses to our Young learners and Adult

  • Centre School Administrator

    Here at Carshalton College, we are seeking a Centre School Administrator.

    Reporting to the Head of College Administration & Exams, you will create, review, and update all school timetables within EBS, ensuring that all timetabling is accurate as per timetabling guidelines. As first point of contact for students, parents/carers, staff and members of the public both face to face and on the phone, you will liaise with the School Management Team to ensure course, room and staff timetables are up to date and accurate and ensure visiting tutors claims are processed timely. You will also liaise with MIS regarding withdrawals, transfers, late starters, early completers and cancelled enrolments, and support events such as those linked to enrolment, progression, and admissions as well as parents’ evening and open days within the College.

    This role would suit an individual who has experience of providing strong and effective administrative support within a fast-paced environment and who can work effectively under pressure, adhering to strict deadlines. With a high level of computer literacy, you will be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be able to build relationships across teams to deliver tasks effectively. We’d also like you to be educated to GCSE/Level 2 including English and Maths.

    Experience of working effectively in a curriculum setting is desirable, as is experience of liaising with and supporting students, parents/carers and staff and achieving successful resolutions to enquiries.
