Senior Income & Credit Controller

Morgan Hunt is working with a College in East London who are looking at recruiting a Senior Income and Credit Controller. This is a 3-month contract role paying up to £20 p/hour and will be fully office based.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Income and Credit Controller:

• Oversee invoicing, student fees, loans, and other income-related activities.
• Manage and ensure effective student debt collection and debt management.
• Implement the College's Equality and Diversity policies and contribute to safeguarding practices.
• Ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) in handling student data.
• Manage cashbook entries, complete bank reconciliations, and support day-to-day accounting procedures.
• Provide monthly financial reports to the Income Manager and Head of Management Accounts.
• Act as the first point of contact for student fee and payment queries.
• Coordinate and approve student refunds, direct debit processes, and liaise with debt collection agencies for unpaid student debts.
• Collaborate with MIS to maintain and develop financial systems, including ProSolution and Open Accounts.
• Plan and deliver training on financial processes to Customer Services and Finance teams.
• Regularly review and update processes related to fee collection, loan processing, refunds, and banking.

Previous Skills and Experience of the Senior Income and Credit Controller:

• Must have previously worked in a college.
• Strong communication skills.
• Extensive experience of reporting systems (used both internally and externally) for student debt and loan management. The external reporting requirements relate to the Student Loan Company.
• Capability and experience of using new reporting systems, as required.
