Job Description

Are you a Income Officer looking for work in South East London?

Morgan Hunt\'s Public Sector and Government client based in South East London is looking to recruit an Income Officer to be the first point of contact to all service charge billing and collection queries.

This temporary assignment will run for three months initially with a view to extend and has been deemed inside of IR35.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

- Lead and be the first point of contact for all homeownership queries and all issues relating to the recovery of revenue service charge and major works service charges of leased housing revenue account portfolio.
- Negotiate payment plans and decide on cases for legal action, impacting revenue income into SHS and the HRA.
- Lead and manage revenue service charge and major works service charge recovery for the leased housing revenue account portfolio.
-Stay updated with relevant legislation, including the Landlord and Tenants Acts 1985 and 1987, the Housing Acts 1985, 2004, and 2008, and the Housing and Planning Act 1986.
- Proactively monitor, manage, and maximize service charge collections, influencing monthly income and arrears reporting.
- Manage accounts through the arrears process, including negotiating payment plans and selecting cases for litigation. - - Ensure compliance with the debt pre-action protocol.
- Lead on issues related to the recovery of revenue service charges, liaising with government bodies, local authorities, and professional bodies.
- Meet individual and team targets for homeownership income service delivery.
- Manage a diverse case load while contributing to the overall effectiveness of the team.

To excel further in this role, you will need to have:

- Familiarity with Landlord and Tenant Acts, Housing Acts, and related property legislation.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficient in using telephony systems and office software.
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to work under tight deadlines.

    Training and development

You'll also have the opportunity to apply for a secondment, which is a unique opportunity to develop skills and gain valuable experience working with external partners.

    Career progression

    Once you successfully complete the programme, you will be a fully warranted neighbourhood police officer with a permanent role in policing. You’ll also join our alumni network and have full access to our team, who are there to support your career in policing.

    Many of our graduates have gone on to get promoted or taken the opportunity to move laterally into the wide variety of departments that are on offer in policing. Such as becoming a detective, joining Counter Terrorism teams, or working on policing priorities such as Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).

    Eligibility

    To apply for this programme, you must:

    • be over 17 years of age or older on application, (and 18 by the time of appointment)
    • be a British citizen, a citizen of a country that is a member of the European Economic Area or Switzerland, or a Commonwealth citizen or foreign national who is resident in the UK and has settled status or leave to remain and work without restrictions
    • have been resident in the UK for the past three years (some exemptions allowed)
    • not currently be registered as bankrupt (or have bankruptcy debts that have been discharged within the past three years)
    • not have existing county court judgements outstanding against you
    • not be a current or previous member of a proscribed terrorist organisation or group
    • not plan to take an active role in politics once in role (this does not include voting, but would include canvassing for a political party)
    • be competent in written and spoken English and numeracy
    • hold at least one UK level 3 qualification in any subject, or non-UK equivalent
    • hold a first, 2:1 or 2.2 in any undergraduate degree from a UK university (or equivalent from a non-UK university) and have completed all education by the programme start date of July 2024, this includes part time or distance learning
    • have not undertaken the College of Policing-licensed pre-join degree in Professional Policing Practice
    • have not previously attested, trained or been employed as a police constable in the UK

    Rewards and benefits

    Salary

    You can expect a starting salary of £36,775 increasing each year to £54,000 in seven years.

    Leave

    You’ll start with 22 days per year (on top of public holidays), rising to 30 days depending on your length of service. You can also expect other forms of leave including adoption, maternity and paternity.

    This is not your typical 9-5. Police officers work varied shift patterns which gives them flexibility and freedom to maximise their time outside of work. Different to your typical working week, you’ll often receive several days off in a row. It may take some time to adapt to shift pattern working, but once you do, you may find that the flexibility of the schedule allows you to better balance work and home life.

    You’ll automatically be enrolled as a member of the Police Pension Scheme 2015, which awards police officers for their dedication and service to the public. It offers a generous and secure retirement package, providing officers with financial stability and peace of mind.

    Free London travel from the start of your training programme, including tubes and buses. You’ll also have access to heavily discounted rail travel for up to 70 miles from London.

    Main Duties of the Project and Operations Support Officer

    * Providing support to the Head of department of diary and event management

    * Taking minutes at weekly meetings, drafting agendas and preparing action points

    * Supporting tracking of budgets and costings

    * Developing and maintaining a userguide of best practice for the team to utilise

    * Tracking and monitoring internal projects

    * Assisting in maintaining project risks and issues

    * Creating and managing all projects and meetings

    Experience Required of the Project and Operations Support Officer:

    * Experience of working in a not for profit organisation is essential

    * Experience of working as a PA and Project Officer

    * Experience of supporting a team with administrative and project duties

    * Knowledge of programme controls especially risk and issue

    * Budget and cost management experience

    Overview:

    Morgan Hunt is currently working with a regulatory body who have a newly established public affairs team and are looking for an Associate Public Affairs Officer to join their flexible team on an interim basis. Contribute to shaping their future by building their profile, enhancing their reputation, and engaging stakeholders through proactive campaigns.

    You will be responsible for contributing and delivering their new public affairs strategy aiming to get the right message across to the right audiences by strengthening their horizon scanning and issue management.
