Head of Building Safety Risk

Permanent

Up to £95,000 per annum

Summary

Morgan Hunt are working with a leading social housing provider, currently looking for a Head of Building Safety Risk to join their Building Safety team.

You will be reporting directly into the Director of Building Safety and accountable to the Building Safety Programme Board. You will lead on implementing and managing building safety processes and procedures under the building Safety Act 2022.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing a team of 6.
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive Higher Risk Buildings Safety Management strategy aligned with industry best practices.
  • Conducting thorough safety risk assessments for higher risk buildings, identifying potential hazards and safety risks.
  • Analysing the impact and likelihood of identified risks to prioritise risk management efforts within the Building Safety Risk team.
  • Providing compliance reports on higher risk buildings to the Director of Building Safety and other stakeholders in real-time.
  • Overseeing the Buildings Alterations and Permit to Work process on all higher risk buildings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Leading contract management activities, including negotiations, reviews, and assessments of potential contractual risks.

About you

  • Educated to degree level with a professional qualification in building, construction, maintenance, or surveying services.
  • Fire safety qualification is desirable.
  • Membership with relevant professional bodies (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or CIH) and possession of relevant H&S qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • Extensive experience in risk management, particularly in the context of building projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
