Mental Health Triage Assistant

Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00-17:00. 37.5 hours (Office based)

Assignment length - 3 months (potential extension)

Location: Lambeth

Pay: £13.00 - £16.00 per hour

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join the Lambeth based team as a Mental Health Triage Admin Assistant.

Job Description:

The Mental Health Triage Admin Assistant plays a vital role in the initial stage of our client support process. This position is responsible for managing administrative tasks that ensure a smooth and efficient intake process for individuals seeking mental health support. Your responsibilities will include:

Duties:

  • Taking self-referrals over the phone and uploading them to the system.
  • Receiving phone calls from clients and referrers, providing a friendly and empathetic response.
  • Handling incoming emails from referrers and responding promptly and professionally.
  • Sending outcome letters to clients to communicate important information regarding their referrals.
  • Compassionately assisting clients and referrers in distress over the phone, and when necessary, providing crisis support through appropriate signposting.
  • While the core responsibilities of this role are outlined above, we value flexibility and a willingness to adapt to the changing needs of our organization. There may be times when we require support in other areas, and we appreciate candidates who can adapt and contribute as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Passion for and a thorough understanding of mental health issues.
  • Exceptional communication skills and empathy, with the ability to interact with individuals in distress in a supportive and non-judgmental manner.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and privacy of sensitive information.
