Technical Accountant

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Technical Accountant in London on a 15 month FTC permanent basis with a large Membership organisation. This Technical Accountant role is paying up to £72,000 per annum.

The Technical Accountant will provide financial expertise to senior leadership to help strive towards their short- and long-term targets and strategy. The man responsibility for this role is providing management information to the Finance Manager, aiding forecasting, and budgeting reports.

Main Responsibilities of the Technical Accountant:

• Collaborate with D365 Systems Accountant and Finance Team to ensure Group Chart of Accounts and Financial Analysis align with statutory requirements and VAT regulations.
• Ensure D365 system build adheres to current Group reporting standards and remains adaptable to future changes in accounting regulations.
• Verify internal control environment within D365 system and group business processes meets audit requirements and is robust.
• Test system design and reporting to ensure compliance with accounting standards for both consolidated group and individual statutory accounts.

Conduct thorough testing and ensure accuracy of VAT reporting, as well as compliance with VAT partial exemption rules.

Person Specification of the Technical Accountant:

• Recognised CCAB accounting qualification
• Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulations
• High-level expertise in an accounting software package
• Working knowledge of data protection requirements
• Experience in producing Statutory Accounts using FRS102 and SORP, Group Accounts preparation, and Financial Accounting roles.
• Experience in developing, maintaining, and evaluating effective control frameworks, implementing a new finance system, giving formal presentations, report writing, expert knowledge of VAT Partial Exemption Rules, and preparing VAT and Corporation tax returns.
