IT Project Manager

£500 - £530 per day INSIDE IR35
 

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior IT project manager for our public sector client, based in Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity to join a programme focused on digital Learning experiences.

- £500-530 Per Day (INSIDE IR35)
- 2 Days in the office (West end of Glasgow) / 3 Days from home
- 6 Month Contract

Job Purpose

This Senior Project Manager role will report to the Head of Project Delivery, within the Programme Delivery directorate, working in partnership with Information Services colleagues. You will provide strong Project Management and Business Analysis skills to manage and drive the work of the team who are developing the systems and services to help manage and enhance organizational processes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for leading the delivery of projects: within agreed timescales, budgets, and scope: driving project initiation; management of the project and its resources to produce successful services that meet business needs.
  2. Responsible for concurrently managing several large organizational, process, systems, and data projects across all Colleges and central functions.
  3. Management of project staff resources for large project teams often including external parties, providing support, leadership, and direction: developing plans for the delivery of required work and allocating the work according to resource type required, availability, and skills; monitoring progress of work against plan, evaluating alternatives, and initiating corrective action when required.
  4. Communication with all relevant sponsor and stakeholder communities, including consultation and management of expectations; engaging and managing stakeholders from various departments to ensure clarity in the delivery of key project communications.
  5. Deployment of a robust and responsive risk management approach to identify, assess, monitor, and actively manage risks.
  6. Ensure that there are appropriate quality management processes in place to ensure that the final deliverables of projects comply with stakeholder requirements, appropriate legislation, organizational policies and procedures, and industry best practice.
  7. Report to the relevant Project Boards and senior forums and committees on all aspects of the management and delivery of projects, preparing high-quality papers and required project management products.
  8. Provide leadership in business process mapping.

    The Successful Applicant

    • Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline
    • Proven track record of leading the development and delivery of digital, data and technological transformation that drives improved efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Sound understanding of digital, data and technological capabilities deployed across the public sector.
    • Experience of overseeing and leading the delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects and teams including matrix leadership across organisational and supplier boundaries.
    • Experience in driving innovation in partnership with both internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
    • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build a collaborative and inclusive team. To attract, motivate and develop colleagues at all levels to achieve their highest potential with the ability to inspire and engage people through change.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to think beyond standard and pre-existing models and paradigms to create new and creative ways to deliver services.

  • Service Management Consultant

    We have a current opportunity for a Service Management Consultant on a 6 contract basis with a well established public sector organisation. The position will be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh.


    As a Service Management Implementation Expert (both IT and wider business) specialising in ServiceNOW, you will play a pivotal role in driving business transformation through the strategic deployment and optimization of ServiceNOW\'s service management capabilities. This role focuses on the business implementation, process optimization, and change management aspects of ServiceNOW, ensuring seamless integration with organizational objectives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Auditing of existing ITIL/Service Management processes and define areas for improvement
    • Translating operational areas for improvement into development demand
    • Lead HR colleagues through readiness steps to embed ServiceNow HR Service Delivery module within the organisation
    • Document and implement ITSM Quality Assurance within the organisation
    • Provide training and coaching for ITSM processes across Digital and associated teams
