The organisation
In this Homeless Prevention Officer opportunity in Birmingham, you will join an organisation whose main purpose Is tackle homelessness In Birmingham and surrounding areas for people between the ages of 16-25 .
Key responsibilities
In this Homeless Prevention Officer job, your responsibilities will include:
- ]Assessing young people as soon as they enter the service - completing risk assessment and checks on their living situations - checking If they qualify for housing support
- Provide appropriate housing advice In line with housing legislation
- Refer and signpost appropriately to relevant services
- Undertake mediation If needed between family or friends of service user
- To utilise legal advice services to effectively advocate on a young person's behalf
Requirements of a Homeless Prevention Officer
- Proven track record of working in housing assessments
- Available to start ASAP - short-term temporary cover
- Will need an enhanced DBS child and adult cleared
