Homeless Youth Worker

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Homeless Youth Worker on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Birmingham, a car driver isn't necessary but is ideal - mileage will be reimbursed. For further information about this position please apply.

This role will be a 12 week initial temporary placement with a view to offer a permanent contract after. It will also be based at multiple locations over the Birmingham area so someone who is happy to travel either on public transport or with their own car is essential.



*An Enhanced DBS will be required to start - Child and Adult cleared*



Responsibilities of a Homeless Youth Worker

• You will spend your time offering a 1:1 support service to, enabling them to live as independently as they can
• Provide a crucial role line managing a small team of Support Workers, under the guidance of the Project Manager, conducting regular supervisions and case management sessions
• Work closely with our service users to work on developing their independence, seeking out opportunities for them to learn, work and get involved in community and social activities
• Assisting with housing related support - applying for housing / benefits
• Carrying out routine health and safety checks

Requirements of a Homeless Youth Worker

• Proven track record of working within homelessness
• DBS on the update service or issued within the last 12 months *needs to be child and adult cleared*
• Able to start asap and hit the ground running
• A driver isn't essential but ideal - will need to be able to commute around the Birmingham area
