Job Description

We have a current opportunity for a Plumber/fitter on a contract basis. The position will be based in Stevenage. For further information about this position please apply.

Ideal candidate will have previous commercial or NHS experience

Candidates have done the following:

  • Maintenance around commercial buildings
  • Working on refrigeration, split units and refrigeration plant
  • Planned preventative maintenance experience
  • Working in plant/boiler rooms
  • Have HVAC knowledge
  • Worked on hot and cold-water systems
  • Maintaining chillers and coolers
  • Understanding compliance with all Statutory Regulations, HTMs, Trust Standards, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of install, decommissioning, repair and maintain all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing and drainage services, plant and equipment
  • Must know how to read drawing diagrams of plant rooms
  • As a Maintenance Mechanical Plumber, you will be required to carry out work including activities that are complex and/or non-routine. You will be responsible for the calibration and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment (low pressure hot water systems, general air conditioning controls and systems, steam rising plant and associated equipment).


You will be required to undertake maintenance, repairs, minor improvements and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.



Hours : Monday - Friday 8AM - 4PM standard hours
On call required (Overtime rates paid)

Standard hourly rate: £20 PH Umbrella

  • Building Sureveyor

    The British Heart Foundation has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to cover it`s retail property portfolio in the Midlands and the North of England. The role is for 6 months and then will become a full-time salaried role and is fully remote. The large geographic area covered means all candidates will need to be prepared to travel with occasional overnight stays required when visiting properties.

    The role will encompass full management and maintenance of over 230 properties which will primarily be retail outlets but also stores, storage units and office accommodation. The role includes reactive repair, programme maintenance and full capital refurbishments up to the value of around £100k which includes pre and post inspections, dilapidations and liabilities, fire safety, CDM/Planning Supervisor duties, and Project management of refurbishment schemes including all contract administration of each scheme ( using JCT form of contract) to final account. Typically, there will be around 5-6 refurbishment projects running at any given time.

    The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to deal with retail tenants, external consultants and building and fit out contractors. Any knowledge of both the retail sector and leasing issues will be a definite advantage as the role requires the management of leases, dilapidations, and liabilities for retail store stakeholders alongside the property team. You will be joining a team of 4 other building surveyors nationally overseen by a National Operations Director. The team and the property portfolio are expected to expand and grow over the coming years.

    About the role:

     

    Your role will involve assessing and supporting students in their workplace to ensure they meet or exceed targets to enable them to achieve their qualifications. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with Colleagues, Students and Stakeholders both internally and externally.

     

    You will be required to work 37 hours per week on a permanent basis and must be qualified to NVQ 3 as a plumbing and heating engineer with 5 years industry experience. This role requires travel to the workplace of our students and as such you must have access to your won vehicle and hold a driving licence.
