GCSE English Tutor - Doncaster/Leeds

£26000 - £28000 per annum
 

Job Description

Morgan Hunt have partnered with an established charity who are seeking to recruit a GCSE English Tutor in the Doncaster and Leeds area paying up to £28,000. This is a full time, permanent contract delivering GCSE and Functional Skills English. The role will be based across 2 sites in Doncaster and Leeds therefore the client requires someone to be flexible with their travel. The delivery model is 4 days per week teaching and 1 day of administrative work can be from home.

The GCSE English Tutor will be responsible for:

  • designing, planning and delivering engaging lessons on GCSE and Functional Skills English
  • ensuring the delivery meets the required standards
  • contributing the development of lessons plans and schemes of work
  • attending regular meetings with the quality team

    The GCSE English Tutor will need to hold:
  • a Level 5 qualification or higher in English or related subject
  • a Level 5 teaching qualification
  • experience of teaching GCSE and English Functional Skills
  • a driving license and be flexible to travel across

    In return the successful applicant for the GCSE English Tutor role will receive:

    Job Purpose:

     

    The Trainee Project Coordinator is an integral part of the union and reports directly to the Head of Community Learn. The Trainee Project Coordinator will work as part of a team engaging Community members and expanding the union’s presence in the community.     • Recruit & maintain a network of Learning Reps and other Community reps and support through coaching and engagement. 
    • Manage focus groups for ULRs & Community groups working with the team.
    • Oversee systems and procedures to ensure accurate engagement data is compiled for bespoke reports and learner records.
    • Work with regional offices and staff to identify and facilitate high quality bespoke training for our members.
    • Attending meetings, taking notes, and progressing actions as required.
    • Administration and maintenance of member records & achievements on internal management information systems and management of department’s event planner.
    • Support and engage with branches and regions to communicate & promote training opportunities and ‘In Your Community’ work.
    • Maintain good internal and external relationship management and engagement to establish good working inter-department relationships and build upon partnerships with external affiliates.
    • Represent Head of Community Learn at various external events and meetings.
    • Administration and other tasks as directed by the Head of Community Learn.

    Skills

     

    • Ability to strategically plan ahead, and apply time-management to diarise, schedule and prioritise work plans, activities, projects and meetings.
    • Strong concise & succinct communication skills with ability to engage with members & affiliates.
    • Good attention to upkeep of records & outcome, with good analytical skills.

    About the Role

    The Personal Development Co-ordinator is a newly created position within our Student Support Service team, you will be based at Rotherham College, part of the RNN Group and will be responsible for the creation and delivery of an exciting and engaging programme of personal development activities and events for College learners to enhance their College experience.

    As a Personal Development Co-ordinator, the key duties of this role will be to create a programme of personal development activities, available to all learners and working with learners to understand key topics and themes. You will organise, coordinate and deliver events to develop the essential life and personal skills of students, including health, wellbeing and learning opportunities

    You will build effective partnerships with external organisations, who will provide guest speaker delivery and lead on learner voice activity.

    You will have experience of working within an educational environment, ideally within a Further Education/Post-16 environment. Working as a team, you will be responsible for organising, co-ordinating, promoting and delivering events to develop essential life and personal skills of learners.

    You will have qualifications in English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent, and a Level 2 qualification in Guidance/Counselling or similar. You will also be able to demonstrate good customer service skills and be able to work with respect and confidentiality.

    The role of Personal Development Co-ordinator will work within a team on site and with colleagues in similar positions across other RNN Group campuses in order to provide a consistent approach to events, delivery and offerings.  You will report to the Student Support Team Leader and work closely with colleagues in the Student Support teams onsite. You will also liaise with curriculum managers and tutors to ensure learners access appropriate personal development opportunities for their individual learner journey.

    The Role

    We are looking for Learning Support Assistants to work within our busy Additional Learning Support Team. 

    In this rewarding role, you will provide in and out of class support to assist students with learning difficulties/disabilities to help them achieve their best possible outcomes. This may be supporting with personal care and/or literacy and numeracy.
