Job Description

About the Role

This is an exciting role working on our Lens Based and Digital counter within the School of Creative Arts at our brand new Quarry Hill Campus. 

You will work alongside our technical demonstrators and teachers to provide a high-quality counter service ensuring equipment is well maintained and issued via our booking system, as well as preparing reservations.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure that the Creative Arts Booking Service is prepared in readiness for the start of the teaching day and maintained throughout the day.
  • Keep a stock check on consumable items within Technical Services and make the Creative Arts Technical Services Manager aware of the necessity to order more items.
  • Check out equipment to students and staff members and ensure that any reservations are prepared in advance.
  • Update software and applications on Creative Art devices.
  • Maintain and prepare equipment for loan by undertaking daily tasks such as charging batteries, cleaning camera lenses and updating software.

About You

  • Good understanding of camera technologies, lighting and sound for film.
  • Able to use MacOS
  • An understanding of maintenance within a digital lens based area.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently.
  • Knowledge of specialist creative equipment.

    We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join the College’s busy commercial catering outlets. The role involves serving customers, till operation, food preparation, replenishing stock, and ensuring the equipment and premises are cleaned to a high standard. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while occasionally working under pressure to deliver food efficiently and on time, as part of a team, this is the role for you. 

    About the Person
    We are looking for a great team player with a positive, can-do attitude, and a flexible approach to work. Experience of food preparation and working in a catering environment would be advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided.  You should have a passion for delivering friendly and efficient customer service. Full uniform provided.

    Job Purpose:

     

    The Trainee Project Coordinator is an integral part of the union and reports directly to the Head of Community Learn. The Trainee Project Coordinator will work as part of a team engaging Community members and expanding the union’s presence in the community. The role will involve shaping and supporting the coordination of regional campaigns in line with national initiatives, seek to recruit and organise members within new organisations including community groups, charity organisations, religious groups, and branches. The Trainee Project Coordinator will also oversee administration and delivery of learning services in supporting Community Learn in advancing the learning aims of the union.

     

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Support the coordination and delivery of campaigns, events & projects in alignment with departmental, regional & national initiatives.
    • Ensure the integration of equal opportunities is imbedded across all aspects of project, campaign and L&D planning.
    • Work alongside branches and employers to establish joint working committees to recruit and organise members.
    • Recruit & maintain a network of Learning Reps and other Community reps and support through coaching and engagement. 
    • Manage focus groups for ULRs & Community groups working with the team.
    • Oversee systems and procedures to ensure accurate engagement data is compiled for bespoke reports and learner records.
    • Work with regional offices and staff to identify and facilitate high quality bespoke training for our members.
    • Attending meetings, taking notes, and progressing actions as required.
    • Administration and maintenance of member records & achievements on internal management information systems and management of department’s event planner.
    • Support and engage with branches and regions to communicate & promote training opportunities and ‘In Your Community’ work.
    • Maintain good internal and external relationship management and engagement to establish good working inter-department relationships and build upon partnerships with external affiliates.
    • Represent Head of Community Learn at various external events and meetings.
    • Administration and other tasks as directed by the Head of Community Learn.

    You will be part of a Curriculum and Department team and will work with other teaching staff to develop and share good practice in the area.
