Joiner (Multi-Skilled) - Repairs - Social Housing

Please note this vacancy will be covering the Salford and Manchester areas and requires a driving licence and using a company van.

A rare opportunity to join an established, customer and staff focused housing association covering the Salford and Manchester region as a Joiner - Multi-Trades. We are hoping to speak to Joiners who are either already working in social housing and want to work for an employer of choice in a condensed geographical patch, or experienced joiners with residential or new build experience who would like to work in the housing sector, for stability and work life balance.

You will deliver a wide range of responsive maintenance jobs. You will leave customers\' homes in a condition that is safe, clean and in good working; this together with excellent customer service is the core of the repairs service we need you to deliver.

What you\'ll be doing

  • You will achieve first time fix with a correct diagnosis, multi trade working and effective relationships with the supply chain
  • You will be working remotely and completing jobs on a mobile device
  • Respecting customer homes, leaving them clean and safe
  • Treating your customers with respect and empathy
  • 39 hour working week, with out of hours cover every 1 in 4 weekends with an out of hours payment

What you\'ll need

  • Certified in City & Guilds NVQ level 2 in joinery
  • You will have experience of working in domestic properties preferably in housing but not essential
  • You will worked with a repairs scheduling system previously; but not essential
  • You are as comfortable working on your own as you are as part of a team
  • You will have the ability to carry out basic functions of other core trades to help support First time fix and value for money.

    Position Summary

    Progress Housing Group are looking for a Service Charge Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in our mission to create high-quality homes, support independence, and foster opportunities for individuals and communities.

    As a Service Charge Manager you will be reporting to the Leasehold & Contracts Manager, overseeing the setting and monitoring of service charges for general needs and independent living homes. Collaborate with teams to ensure high service standards and compliance, meet reporting deadlines, and investigate and resolve initial complaints and inquiries. This role can be performed from a local office or remotely, involving record-keeping, report generation, performance reporting, and meeting attendance.

    This is a full time and permanent role, working 36.25 hours per week.

    What we need you to bring:

    The ideal candidate will have experience in managing service charges for an excellent, cost-effective service to residents. They will also supervise two Income & Invoicing Officers. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, a focus on resident satisfaction, and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues.

    The candidate should work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, delegate when necessary, and seek support when needed. Ideally, candidates will have experience in the Housing Sector, possess accountancy knowledge, and expertise in setting service charges for compliance and efficiency.

    Morgan Hunt is working with a large Housing Association to recruit a number of Support Workers for their supported housing service in Manchester. This is a temporary A Bed Every Night Service to support those sleeping rough in Manchester during the cold weather months. We have a variety of shifts available including an early, late and night shift each day including weekends.

    As a Support Worker, you will.

    • Be responsible for supporting a cohort of 6 individuals experiencing homelessness with support needs in an ABEN setting as they wait for permanent accommodation.
    • Provide person centred support to a vulnerable cohort with various presenting needs.
    • Ensure any safeguarding concerns are dealt with promptly and appropriate action is taken in line with company policy.
    • Report concerns around the welfare of individuals in accordance with the correct process.
    • Provide assistance and guidance to individuals; supporting them to manage their own support needs and develop their independent living skills.
    • Take appropriate immediate action in emergency situations, contacting the necessary emergency services and effectively managing the situations, seeking peer / manager support as necessary.
    • Actively ensure the security of the building, including managing visitor access.
    • Ensure the health and safety of the building by completing relevant checks including fire alarm testing, identifying, and reporting communal repairs.
    • Carrying out cleaning of all communal areas.

    In order to be successful for the role of Support Worker, you will have;

    • Experience of providing a customer facing, front line service in a busy environment.
    • Experience/awareness of safeguarding, including types of abuse.
    • Experience of working alone and using own initiative to achieve positive outcomes.
    • Able to use Microsoft Office applications and a variety of IT systems as part of daily role.
    • Awareness of Health & Safety best practice and issues.
    • Experience of cleaning and housekeeping.

    Due to the nature of this role an Enhanced Adult and Child DBS on the update service is required.

    Our client

    Morgan Hunt is delighted to be working with a national charity who have recently opened a brand-new service in Winsford, Cheshire. We are looking for several staff for this service on a temporary basis for at least 3 months whilst permanent recruitment takes place. We can offer full time hours with a mixture of shift patterns available dependent on candidate\'s availability including day shifts and afternoon / sleep shifts. Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for candidates that are flexible as weekend work will be required.

    The service

    The service supports 16 - 18-year-olds who are leaving care. Each Young Person is placed within a trainer flat, with staff on hand 24 hours a day for additional support. Young people are encouraged and supported to develop their independent living skills with the aim of becoming tenancy ready.

    The role - Young Persons Support Worker

    • Supporting 5 young people in their own flats to become tenancy ready.
    • Supporting with things like independent living skills, education, training or employment, budgeting, cooking, attending appointments, and managing finances.
    • Providing practical and emotional support to young people.
    • Supporting young people to develop their confidence and self-esteem.
    • Signposting to external organisations for additional support as and when required.
    • Liaising with other professionals to ensure each young person is supported in the best way possible.
    • Health and safety / building management.
    • Keeping accurate records around young people\'s progress.
    • Completing support plans and risk assessments and updating as required.

    The candidate

    • Experience of supporting vulnerable people in a similar setting.
    • Experience of working within children\'s residential services / youth work would be advantages.
    • The ability to use initiative and manage challenging behaviours as lone working will be required for this role.
    • The ability to complete support plans and risk assessments.
    • A good level of IT literacy to keep accurate records of young people\'s progress.

    As a Young Persons Support Worker, an Enhanced DBS is required which must be dated within the last 12 months or on the update service.
