We are recruiting for an ABEN Support Worker based in Rochdale. This is a permanent post, working 36 hours per week.

The role

As an ABEN Worker, you will be responsible for delivering a complex needs service for women who are homeless, providing a high quality and individual service and putting in place appropriate support for those people who are experiencing multiple and challenging barriers to living safe lives.

  • Work with clients on a one-to-one basis to assist them to make informed choices and remain safe.
  • Enable clients to develop themselves and advance their independence, assisting them to access longer term safe housing and ultimately employment, education, and training.
  • Encourage clients to take ownership of improving their quality of life and developing independent living skills.
  • Assess the needs of all clients and, in conjunction with them, devise a support plan to address and identify need.
  • Complete risk assessments, incorporating safety planning and reviewing on a regular basis.
  • Produce quarterly monitoring reports for the ABEN service.
  • Actively promote the service and the organisation.
  • Ensure initial triage contact of each client is undertaken within 24 hours of receiving a referral, and initial assessment is complete within 5 days.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the efficient recording, storing, and maintaining of client records including contact notes, correspondence, support plans, risk management plans and outcomes achieved.
  • Actively and sensitively engage clients to work in-line with relevant legislation and safeguarding policy/procedures.
  • Work in-line with the project\'s budget, adhering to financial policies and procedures.
  • Make referrals and work in conjunction with all relevant agencies in the best interests of clients.
  • To provide transitional resettlement support to clients moving into independent accommodation.

The candidate

  • An extensive understanding of homeless and/or women, and the options available to them.
  • Knowledge of devising client support, identifying risks and devising risk management plans and ensuring outcomes are achieved.
  • Up to date knowledge of homelessness, housing, welfare benefits and legislation.
  • Knowledge and ability to assess and respond to safeguarding concerns.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing in a confident and professional manner.
  • Liaise with other local agencies on behalf of the orgaisation.
  • Ability to create, co-ordinate, deliver, promote and evaluate training sessions to clients.
  • Knowledge and ability to deliver group work sessions and drop ins.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding workload.
  • Any of the following qualifications: Housing officer, IDVA, Freedom Programme Facilitator, Recovery Toolkit Facilitator, Counselling, Train the trainer and/or any relevant accredited group programmes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislation, injunction procedures and legal remedies specific to domestic abuse.

As an ABEN Support Worker, you will need an Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service.

    Position Summary

    Progress Housing Group are looking for a Service Charge Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in our mission to create high-quality homes, support independence, and foster opportunities for individuals and communities.

    As a Service Charge Manager you will be reporting to the Leasehold & Contracts Manager, overseeing the setting and monitoring of service charges for general needs and independent living homes. Collaborate with teams to ensure high service standards and compliance, meet reporting deadlines, and investigate and resolve initial complaints and inquiries. This role can be performed from a local office or remotely, involving record-keeping, report generation, performance reporting, and meeting attendance.

    This is a full time and permanent role, working 36.25 hours per week.

    What we need you to bring:

    The ideal candidate will have experience in managing service charges for an excellent, cost-effective service to residents. They will also supervise two Income & Invoicing Officers. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, a focus on resident satisfaction, and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues.

    The candidate should work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, delegate when necessary, and seek support when needed. Ideally, candidates will have experience in the Housing Sector, possess accountancy knowledge, and expertise in setting service charges for compliance and efficiency.

    Excellent opportunity for a Senior Property Leader to head up the repairs and estates maintenance function for a Manchester based housing association with around 8000 properties. This is a strategic role and cover for maternity leave on a fixed term contract basis for 9-12 months.

    Morgan Hunt is working with a large Housing Association to recruit a number of Support Workers for their supported housing service in Manchester. This is a temporary A Bed Every Night Service to support those sleeping rough in Manchester during the cold weather months. We have a variety of shifts available including an early, late and night shift each day including weekends.

    As a Support Worker, you will.

    • Be responsible for supporting a cohort of 6 individuals experiencing homelessness with support needs in an ABEN setting as they wait for permanent accommodation.
    • Provide person centred support to a vulnerable cohort with various presenting needs.
    • Ensure any safeguarding concerns are dealt with promptly and appropriate action is taken in line with company policy.
    • Report concerns around the welfare of individuals in accordance with the correct process.
    • Provide assistance and guidance to individuals; supporting them to manage their own support needs and develop their independent living skills.
    • Take appropriate immediate action in emergency situations, contacting the necessary emergency services and effectively managing the situations, seeking peer / manager support as necessary.
    • Actively ensure the security of the building, including managing visitor access.
    • Ensure the health and safety of the building by completing relevant checks including fire alarm testing, identifying, and reporting communal repairs.
    • Carrying out cleaning of all communal areas.

    In order to be successful for the role of Support Worker, you will have;

    • Experience of providing a customer facing, front line service in a busy environment.
    • Experience/awareness of safeguarding, including types of abuse.
    • Experience of working alone and using own initiative to achieve positive outcomes.
    • Able to use Microsoft Office applications and a variety of IT systems as part of daily role.
    • Awareness of Health & Safety best practice and issues.
    • Experience of cleaning and housekeeping.

    Due to the nature of this role an Enhanced Adult and Child DBS on the update service is required.
