Team Leader - Young Parents Service

Rochdale

The client

Morgan Hunt is working with a leading charity delivering quality support services to women, men and their families who are affected by domestic abuse, homelessness, and young parents across Northwest England. They aim to empower individuals to build up the skills and resources they need to take on a tenancy of their own and maintain a quality of life in the long term. We are recruiting for a Team Leader of a Young Parents service. This is a permanent post, working 24 hours per week in Rochdale.

The role - Team Leader

  • Work with the Operations Manager to support the delivery of all operational aspects of the organisation.
  • Supporting the team and day to day delivery of commissioned and grant funded work.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out within contractual requirements, and this involves multi-agency working and engaging with local partners.
  • Work effectively with the Operations Manager to lead on allocated working priorities, which may include accommodation and community-based teams, both grants, funded and contracted.
  • Provide supervision, case management, and case quality audits and data base oversight and will deputise for other team leaders (in your area) in their absence.
  • Working in partnership with the HR team you will support the effective recruitment and, on boarding induction of staff and volunteers in the areas, you are responsible for.
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness, financial sustainability and impact of all products and services.
  • Proactively seek new opportunities, innovative ways of working and achieve the defined aims and objectives.
  • Produce accurate reporting on impact and outcomes for the operations manager.
  • Ensure the involvement of the service at a local level in meetings e.g., MARAC, DA forums, homelessness etc.
  • Where safeguarding concerns are identified, respond in line with policy and guidance.
  • outcomes achieved.

The candidate

  • Experience of supporting women, men and children who have been subject to domestic violence and abuse and/or sexual violence and abuse/stalking.
  • Experience of undertaking strengths, needs & risk assessments including DASH RIC.
  • Experience of effective multi-agency and partnership working (e.g., MARAC) and delivering complex and demanding service functions.
  • Experience of managing, supporting, supervising, motivating, and developing teams and individuals.
  • Knowledge of best practice in relation to safeguarding, crisis accommodation, and community-based settings and MARAC.

As a Team Leader, you will be required to have an Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or registered on the update service.

    Position Summary

    Progress Housing Group are looking for a Service Charge Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in our mission to create high-quality homes, support independence, and foster opportunities for individuals and communities.

    As a Service Charge Manager you will be reporting to the Leasehold & Contracts Manager, overseeing the setting and monitoring of service charges for general needs and independent living homes. Collaborate with teams to ensure high service standards and compliance, meet reporting deadlines, and investigate and resolve initial complaints and inquiries. This role can be performed from a local office or remotely, involving record-keeping, report generation, performance reporting, and meeting attendance.

    This is a full time and permanent role, working 36.25 hours per week.

    What we need you to bring:

    The ideal candidate will have experience in managing service charges for an excellent, cost-effective service to residents. They will also supervise two Income & Invoicing Officers. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, a focus on resident satisfaction, and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues.

    The candidate should work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, delegate when necessary, and seek support when needed. Ideally, candidates will have experience in the Housing Sector, possess accountancy knowledge, and expertise in setting service charges for compliance and efficiency.

    Morgan Hunt is working with a large Housing Association to recruit a number of Support Workers for their supported housing service in Manchester. This is a temporary A Bed Every Night Service to support those sleeping rough in Manchester during the cold weather months. We have a variety of shifts available including an early, late and night shift each day including weekends.

    As a Support Worker, you will.

    • Be responsible for supporting a cohort of 6 individuals experiencing homelessness with support needs in an ABEN setting as they wait for permanent accommodation.
    • Provide person centred support to a vulnerable cohort with various presenting needs.
    • Ensure any safeguarding concerns are dealt with promptly and appropriate action is taken in line with company policy.
    • Report concerns around the welfare of individuals in accordance with the correct process.
    • Provide assistance and guidance to individuals; supporting them to manage their own support needs and develop their independent living skills.
    • Take appropriate immediate action in emergency situations, contacting the necessary emergency services and effectively managing the situations, seeking peer / manager support as necessary.
    • Actively ensure the security of the building, including managing visitor access.
    • Ensure the health and safety of the building by completing relevant checks including fire alarm testing, identifying, and reporting communal repairs.
    • Carrying out cleaning of all communal areas.

    In order to be successful for the role of Support Worker, you will have;

    • Experience of providing a customer facing, front line service in a busy environment.
    • Experience/awareness of safeguarding, including types of abuse.
    • Experience of working alone and using own initiative to achieve positive outcomes.
    • Able to use Microsoft Office applications and a variety of IT systems as part of daily role.
    • Awareness of Health & Safety best practice and issues.
    • Experience of cleaning and housekeeping.

    Due to the nature of this role an Enhanced Adult and Child DBS on the update service is required.
