Job description

The YMCA St Paul's Group are looking to recruit a Health and Wellbeing Manager (Gym & Sports Hall Manager)

The role will be working 40 hours over 5 days, worked on a rota basis to include occasional evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

The Health and Wellbeing Manager will deliver day to day management of health and wellbeing services at site and online. Working under the direction of the Lead Health and Wellbeing Manager and the Lead Group Activity Manager they will manage the delivery of a high quality, innovative, integrated model of health orientated activity for YMCA St Paul's Group housing residents and community based health and wellbeing services. A key focus of the role will be to ensure that the service is meeting its strategic goals and objectives while achieving annual budgetary targets and ensuring consistently high quality provision of service and excellence in customer care.

Duties for the Health and Wellbeing Manager (Gym & Sports Hall Manager)will be

  • To and deliver the Centre Health & Wellbeing services plan.
  • Responsible for the health and wellbeing team ensuring that enquiries, tours and sales are completed in line with the group's sales processes.
  • Identify members at risk of leaving by adopting a proactive approach to retaining members seeking to cancel their membership and drive up overall retention.
  • Maximise the hire of the sports areas, studios and rooms by managing the invoicing and payments for this effectively.
  • Through the Business Improvement team ensure the highest standards of customer care are maintained and any improvements identified and resolved.
  • Resolve any complaints or queries from members that cannot be resolved directly by the health and wellbeing team.

The successful candidate for the role of Health and Wellbeing Manager (Gym & Sports Hall Manager) will have:

  • Advanced Gym Instructor (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) or above in a Health and Fitness related qualification that is recognised by REP's or CIMSPA
  • Experience of managing people and coordinating health and safety, processes, procedures and checks
