Housing Programmes Officer

Up to £16.42 per hour

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Housing Programmes Officer on a temporary basis. This role will run until April 2022 and will be a mix of working from home and in the office.

The main purpose of the role is to assist the Asset Manager (Housing) to develop a strategic approach with regards to the repairs and maintenance of the housing stock and to ensure that all legislative requirements are met and maintained.

The duties of the role are:

  • To assist in the development, administration and implementation of the Capital and Revenue Planned Maintenance Programme including response repairs.
  • To prepare information, including briefs, specifications, drawings and schedules

  • To contribute to the preparation of the department's design/good practice/minimum standard guides.

  • To carry out stock condition surveys and to recommend actions arising as result of survey work or other evidence relating to stock condition.

  • To assess property fabric condition and provide information to the Asset Manager (Housing) and consider ongoing budgetary implications and annual spending proposals.

  • To carry out asbestos surveys and sampling.Undertake assessment of insurance claims, arrange remedial works as appropriate, supervise works and complete reports, estimates and final account agreements for loss adjusters.

To be considered for the role you must have:

  • Sound building technology knowledge and experience
  • House condition survey experience
  • Computer literacy, use of a range of databases and spreadsheets
