Job description

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for an HR Partner on a permanent basis on behalf of our public sector client based in Edinburgh.

Salary: £34k

Annual Leave: 45 Days

Pension: 19.1% of Salary

Working Pattern: Hybrid, 35 Hours per Week

Total Package Value (Including Holidays Pension): £46k

The HR Partner will be responsible for providing a wide range of HR support to ensure a high level of service is provided to managers and staff. The post holder will also work with the wider HR team to help ensure the service is effective and processes across the team work seamlessly.

Duties Include:

  • Support managers in the practical application of HR policies and procedures, where applicable considering employment law, HR best practice and the needs of the organisation, ensuring wherever possible that advice and guidance provided is consistent, accurate, and up to date.
  • Ensure all appropriate policies, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to with clear audit trails and maintain personnel records in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
  • Provide generalist HR support and advice to line managers and employees on a range of people management and employment related issues alongside formal casework situations.
  • Participate in recruitment interviews for various levels of staff, advising hiring managers in relation to recruitment and selection practices and procedures.
  • HR management of casework, acting as main point of contact for managers and staff with employment related issues. Provide best practice advice and support at all stages of formal and informal casework processes e.g., investigations, meetings, and hearings.
  • Coaching line managers through the management of a wide range of informal and formal casework, ensuring organisational policy and practices are followed. For example; absence management, performance management, disciplinary and grievance cases.
  • Act as an interface between managers and the central Resourcing and Systems Teams for provision of management information as and when required.

Experience & Skills:

  • CIPD qualified (or working towards this)
  • Up to date knowledge of current and future employment legislation/best practice and its practical application.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of best practice relating to equality and diversity.
  • Sound knowledge of employee relations issues/policies/procedures.
  • Working knowledge and good level of competence in the use of Microsoft office packages.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies.
