Job Title: Lawyer (Enforcement)

Location: Hybrid (Remote & London Office 4 days per fortnight)

Annual Salary: £59,000 - £61,000

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week or more)

Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Financial Sector Regulator, in their search for a permanent Lawyer (Enforcement) to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, in complex and often high-profile investigations.

This will involve assisting in case strategy, driving investigations forward as well as working with a multi-disciplinary team to collate, analyse and prepare evidence. You will be instructing and working with counsel and external experts/solicitors as well monitoring case budgets, preparing for tribunal and providing advice on legal and policy aspects of cases.

The successful applicant will be a qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in regulatory law, white-collar crime and/or commercial litigation. You will have excellent legal, analytical and communication skills along with strong intellect and good judgement. You will be organised, able to work to deadlines and make fair and robust legal decisions. You will have a passion for public interest and a friendly, collaborative, and can-do attitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Working in case teams comprising forensic accountants, other lawyers and legal assistants
• Assisting in planning case strategy and driving investigations forward
• Working with forensic accountants to review complex accountancy, actuarial and audit material
• Collating, analysing, interpreting and preparing evidence
• Instructing, working closely with and project managing counsel, independent experts and external solicitors
• Assisting with preparation for Tribunal hearings
• Providing high quality advice and analysis on legal and policy aspects of cases and of Divisional work in general
• Monitoring case expenditure and case budgets

Personal Specification

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with experience of regulatory law and/or white-collar crime and/or commercial litigation
• Excellent legal and analytical skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• A strong intellect and good judgement
• A good organizer with effective trial management skills
• Determination and self-motivation to pursue matters and make fair and robust legal decisions
• Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines
• Enthusiasm for conducting important regulatory work in the public interest
• A good team player ethic
