Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Central London

Contract: Permanent; Full-time.

Salary: £31,000 - £35,000 per annum

Morgan Hunt are proud to be supporting a fantastic Arts Charity based in Central London. This organisation is a performing arts and concert venue situated at a fantastic Grade II* listed location. They have welcomed legendary artists from all over the world to perform in their unique spaces.

About the role

Working closely budget holders and Heads of Department you will provide day to day support across a range of finance tasks, contribute significantly to the month-end reporting cycle.

You will also take on a range of ad­-hoc analysis projects.


You will report to the Management Accountant, and be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Management Accountant with the preparation of the Monthly Management Accounts.
  • Take responsibility for the completion of a range of monthly balance sheet and control account reconciliations.
  • Build on-going relationships with Budget holders and support them to make business decisions in their areas. This will include regular reviews of financial information, preparation of re-forecasts and help with special project areas.
  • Support the Management Accountant with the preparation of ongoing re-forecasts, budgets and longer term planning.
  • Support the Management Accountant with the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and with the preparation and conduct of the annual audit.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Partly Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA etc), actively studying towards an accounting qualification, with experience and knowledge of general accounting principles including project accounting.
  • Broad experience in the preparation of insightful monthly management accounts/ business information that supports business decision making.
  • Strong Analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distil and explain accounting issues.
  • Knowledge of Charity accounting, e.g. unrestricted and restricted funding.
