About Young Roots:
Founded in 2004, Young Roots works with young refugees and asylum seekers aged 11-25 in London. Their mission is to support these individuals in improving their well-being and realising their full potential. They provide direct services, including engaging youth and sporting activities, one-to-one intensive Casework support, access to therapeutic and legal support, English-language learning and youth leadership. Young Roots strives to address the inequities faced by young people, welcoming individuals from anywhere in the world, regardless of religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender, race, or belief.
About the role:
The Head of Services will lead a dedicated team and oversee service provision for individuals in the Croydon Borough. The key responsibility of this role is to lead the development of the Croydon delivery team, playing a pivotal role in team development and cultivating partnerships to enhance service delivery.
The successful candidate will ensure that the services and activities are values and outcomes driven, with a strong focus on staff well-being, which is key to the organisation. They will also be dedicated to building strong local partnerships and influencing local practice and networks.
As they launch their Policy and Campaigning work, you will support and inform the development of a new influencing group, ensuring young people are at the heart of this work. You will also have responsibility for Safeguarding at Designated Safeguarding Officer level.
We are seeking someone with experience in leading and managing teams within the social care field. Ideally, candidates will have both youth casework experience and a deep knowledge of the UK asylum and social care systems.
