Job Title: ALS Coordinator

Job Type: Temporary

Location:East London

Length of contract : Temporary - Ongoing

Job Activities:

  • Co-ordinate EHCP college Consultation requests from applicants and maintain an accurate record of outcomes and set up panel meetings.
  • To be an active member of the EHCP consultation panel.
  • Obtain and track EHCP [and other reports/statements /evidence of need] by liaison with Student Services, students, families, school SENCOs and local authority officers
  • Oversee the EHCP Annual Review process by arranging Reviews for all EHCP students, including coordinating the collation of all associated documentation.
  • Oversee the smooth running of all meetings for EHCP students called by the ALS management team by ensure timely communications and a supportive reception for the students, their parents/carers, college staff and external visitors.
  • Collect and report accurate data on EHCPs to college managers and ILR teams in a timely manner.
  • Co-ordinate the processes required by the ALS Management Team to track and monitor the journey/progress of students with EHCPs / High Needs, including liaison with families and students, their teaching and support teams and student services [including BeSafe]
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy HN Support Files containing EHCPs, College assessments, Support Plans, Support logs, Reviews, progress reports, IAG, destination planning and HN costings.
  • Monitor and cost the specific support requirements for HN learners external care/therapy and assistive technology and build a dataset of providers and their costs.
  • Initiate purchasing processes and log all costs against individual HN learners; updating and proving summary reports on a regular basis.
  • Complete and return the high needs funding forms to required standards of each local authority in a timely manner.
  • Send and log all LA responses, using secure communications, to ensure ALS Manager has updated info,
  • Collate and report data on HN learner numbers and funding to senior managers in a timely manner.
  • To ensure all changes for EHCP students are recorded and negotiated with the LA regarding associated funding.

Person specification:

Good Standard of General Education (Minimum of Level 2

English and Maths)

ICT Training (ECDL or equivalent)

Health and Safety Training

Minimum of 6 months recent experience of administration of ALS

Minimum of 3 months experience of High Needs funding

Experience of meeting stringent deadlines and working to timescales

Experience of EHCP processes applying to FE

Experience of inputting, processing, and analysing large amounts

of data

Experience of delivering a high standard of customer care

Good knowledge of Adult and High Needs funding methodology and guidelines related to post 16 support

Ability to calculate and monitor financials; able to input and prepare data and statistics

High level of attention to detail

Excellent ICT skills, specifically in Microsoft Office including Excel

Excellent communication skills both internally and with external stakeholders.

Excellent organisational skills

Ability to manage workload and prioritise work
