Job description

Morgan Hunt are working with Southwark College to recruit for an Art Technician / Fashion Technician. The successful candidate will work with Fashion and Art students and will be needed for an immediate start. The role is based on site at the College and is due to run at least until mid-May 2023.

The Art Technician / Fashion Technician will be responsible for:

  • Working with Course Leaders to maintain stocks of materials, equipment, and resources
  • Prepare, set up and distribute equipment and materials in preparation for learning sessions
  • Help maintain security of materials, resources and equipment
  • Liaise with teachers / assessors to produce, prepare, adapt and organise teaching and learning materials and resources and assist the delivery of practical sessions
  • Ensure general and regular maintenance of equipment & resources as required
  • Keep workshops and classrooms in a clean and tidy state, ready for use
  • Any other duties as required by the College

The Art Technician / Fashion Technician will:

  • Have substantial experience the Further Education and Training sector
  • Hold a UK recognised qualification, specific to Art or Fashion
  • Have previous experience working as an Art Technician / Fashion Technician
  • Hold GCSEs in both Maths and English, at grade A-C or equivalent
  • Have a valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
