Job Title: Learning Support Assistant for Further Education

Location: South East London

Salary: £21k - £22k

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join college South East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic and pastoral support to our Further Education students with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs, including those with disabilities, mental health conditions, and learning difficulties

* Assisting with the development and delivery of individual learning plans (ILPs) for students

* Supporting students with academic tasks, such as note-taking, research, and assignment preparation

* Providing pastoral support, including emotional and behavioural support, to students

* Collaborating with teaching staff and other professionals, such as therapists and support workers, to provide a holistic approach to student support

* Maintaining accurate records of student progress and support provided

* Contributing to the development of policies and procedures related to learning support provision

Requirements:

* A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in a related field, such as education, social work, or counselling

* Experience of working with students with additional learning needs in a Further Education setting

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support a diverse range of students

* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

* A commitment to promoting inclusive practice and ensuring equal opportunities for all students

* A willingness to engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance subject knowledge and support skills
