This Pastoral Support Officer role, based in a mainstream Secondary School in North London, will see you working as part of a wellbeing team who remove barriers to learning, promote student welfare and allow students to be successful, independent, resilient and confident learners.

The focus of this Pastoral Support Officer role will be on the emotional, behaviour and social needs of each key stage group and individual students within that by using strategies to promote learning.

Job Summary

• Based at a Mainstream Secondary School in North London (11-18)
• Working closely with Assistant Principal and Heads of Years
• Removing barriers to learning, promoting student welfare and supporting students with SEMH needs

Job Specification

• First-Class or 2:1 degree qualification
• Experience of working with young people on a 1:1 or group basis
• Experience of working with disadvantaged young people and the ability to use a range of positive behaviour management to create an effective climate for learning
• Positive role model who values diversity and promotes equal opportunities
• Determination, resilience and drive
• Enthusiasm, creativity and initiative This Pastoral Support Officer role will see you become the second point of contact (after Form Tutors) for students and parents in relation to the day to day working of the school's behaviour management policy

. You will be required to support the personal, social and academic development of students and promote their well-being. As part of this, you will assist in maintaining links with home, internal and external support services involved with student welfare.
