Speech and Language Therapist (SLT)

JOB TITLE / ROLE: Learning Support Assistant
SECTOR: Education
LOCATION: North London
PAY: £25-£35 per hour
DETAILS:
A large special educational needs college based in North London, which caters for students aged between 16 to 25 years old with Autism, SLD and Complex Needs are looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join them ASAP. The successful Speech and Language Therapist will be required to provide support to students with Autism and Speech, Language and Communication challenges.
Person Specification:
- Must be HCPC registered
- Must have MA in SaLT
- Experience working in a similar role previously is desirable
- Good understanding of ACEs, SEMH, ODD, AD, ODD with a willingness to learn more
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent reporting skills to inform pupil development.
This is a long term role to start ASAP and will continue until the end of the next academic year (July 2023).
About the role:
- Assess, diagnose, treat and manage own specialist caseload of pupils and maintain associated records
- Provide specialist intervention and evaluate outcomes
- Advise and provide clinical support to other therapists/staff on Speech & Language Therapy issues, across the timetable and curriculum
- Supervise the work of assistants, students and other staff working with the post holder
- Provide total commitment to the safeguarding of pupils and the provision of opportunities for all pupils to achieve within the child centred curriculum.
