Key responsibilities

In this Travel and Tourism Lecturer job, your responsibilities will include:

Take responsibility for the group tutorship of one of the courses within the School.

  • Teach on a variety of courses and levels across the curriculum area, including but not limited to BTEC, City and Guilds, NCFE, Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 courses.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvements as directed by Head of Section and/or Head of School.
  • Develop and implement student assessment strategies in accordance with College policies and the requirements of awarding bodies.
  • Adopt a consistent approach in dealing with student discipline in accordance with School policy.
  • Adopt procedures and practices to create a safe working environment and enforce any safety standards in the area of work, ensuring all students comply.
  • Support the marketing of courses both inside and outside the College including attendance at open events. This will involve flexible working (i.e. occasional evenings and weekend working).
  • Assist as required in enrolment procedures. This will involve flexible working (i.e. occasional evenings and weekend working).
  • Undertake any other duties consistent with the objectives and level of responsibility of the post as may be required by the Curriculum management team and/or College Directorate Group.

Skills & experience

  • Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or on the update service
  • A UK recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent is essential
  • Bachelor's degree in Travel and Tourism
  • Up to date with latest teaching techniques and topics in Travel and Tourism
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills
  • Experience of delivering the subject.
