Key responsibilities
In this Travel and Tourism Lecturer job, your responsibilities will include:
Take responsibility for the group tutorship of one of the courses within the School.
- Teach on a variety of courses and levels across the curriculum area, including but not limited to BTEC, City and Guilds, NCFE, Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 courses.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvements as directed by Head of Section and/or Head of School.
- Develop and implement student assessment strategies in accordance with College policies and the requirements of awarding bodies.
- Adopt a consistent approach in dealing with student discipline in accordance with School policy.
- Adopt procedures and practices to create a safe working environment and enforce any safety standards in the area of work, ensuring all students comply.
- Support the marketing of courses both inside and outside the College including attendance at open events. This will involve flexible working (i.e. occasional evenings and weekend working).
- Assist as required in enrolment procedures. This will involve flexible working (i.e. occasional evenings and weekend working).
- Undertake any other duties consistent with the objectives and level of responsibility of the post as may be required by the Curriculum management team and/or College Directorate Group.
Skills & experience
- Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or on the update service
- A UK recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent is essential
- Bachelor's degree in Travel and Tourism
- Up to date with latest teaching techniques and topics in Travel and Tourism
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills
- Experience of delivering the subject.
