Job Title: Job coach

Job Type: Temporary

Location: East London

Industry: Education

Length of contract: Temporary - Ongoing

Hours- 5 days a week - 9 am to 4.30 pm

Key responsibilities

In this Job coach role, your responsibilities will include:

1 To build relationships with participants and through support and advice help them address any barriers to employment.

  1. To have a creative approach to engaging with participants.
  2. To be responsible for a caseload of participants, providing a support role and addressing their needs based upon their individual action plans.
  3. To work with participants on a one to one or group basis as appropriate.
  4. To maintain regular contact with participants on their caseload to offer advice and guidance where needed.
  5. To interview participants to gain information and ascertain their requirements.
  6. To motivate, encourage and support participants to move towards employments and tailor a package of support to meet their individual needs.
  7. To deliver employability and soft skills including confidence and motivation, CV writing, interview techniques, skill checks, digital skills and job search.
  8. To maintain participant records in line with the company's standards.
  9. To act as an appropriate role model and deliver a range of actions to motivate and empower participants and to facilitate their growth in confidence, raise aspirations and to assist in the and achievement of their potential.
  10. To assist participants to plan and progress, in line with their action plans, towards improving their life and employment chances.
  11. To be responsible for ensuring all Key Performance Indicators are consistently achieved.
  12. To meet deadlines and targets as required by the needs of the programme.

Skills & experience

  • Right to Work & Enhanced Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or on the update service
  • A Level 3 in Information Advice & Guidance
  • Experience of liaising with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • To be an enthusiastic and flexible team player with high expectations of self and others
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to multiple deadlines
