A full time or substantial part time post.Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as 'outstanding' in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our web team in a fast-paced and diverse ment. As a small but busy team we develop a wide range of systems from outward facing websites, e-commerce and booking systems to complex internal student data gathering and processing systems.As part of your role you will be involved in all stages of the development cycle from requirement gathering, design, implementation, database creation and maintenance, testing, deployment and support of end users, who can be staff, students, applicants or parents. We are a very hands-on and collaborative team using diverse technologies, often needing to respond quickly to the constantly evolving needs of the College. The variety of systems we write and support means no two days are the same - there is always something new to think about!Although we have advertised this post as being a full-time role we would welcome a part time person with the right skill set. You will either be educated to degree level or equivalent in a Computing subject or will have experience in a similar role. You will have strong PHP skills, with knowledge of the MVC design pattern, of JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS. Your personal skills will include the ability to organise your work while also being a strong team player.
