Morgan Hunt are currently working with one of the UK's Government Executive Agencies in their search for an interim Compliance Officer to support the organisation to ensure it fully meets all legal and regulatory requirements

You will be responsible for representing the organisation with regards to onboarding new clients, and the ongoing delivery of existing clients. You will provide advice and guidance across the organisation in relation to compliance, complaints, and data requests.

You will also be responsible for writing policies and procedures (including the creation of, and reviewing and approving organisational financial promotions and customer facing documents to ensure that they adhere to the relevant regulations and procedures).

This role would be perfect for an experienced Compliance Officer, ideally with experience within a regulated financial services environment and a thorough understanding of the UK's Public Sector and legislative processes. The successful candidate will be a flexible, interpersonal and motivated self-starter with strong communication and leadership skills.

You will have In-depth knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations, codes of practice, guidance and industry best practice relating to advertising and customer communications applicable in the financial services industry. You will also have working knowledge of the FCA's rules relevant to retail financial services/cash deposits, in particular BCOBS, and the ASA codes of conduct for advertising.

This is an interim opportunity working on a hybrid working basis (2 days per week in the office) located in either London, Durham, Lytham or Glasgow.

Job Title: Compliance Officer

Annual Salary: £42,000 - £45,500

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (23 months)

Hours: Full-time

Start Date: ASAP (Mid-May)

Key Responsibilities

• Representing the Compliance function on business projects and providing appropriate advice and guidance.
• Represent the Compliance function with the successful implementation and onboarding of new clients, and in the ongoing delivery in line with the clients compliance requirements
• Providing guidance on the creation of, and reviewing and approving organisational financial promotions and customer facing documents to ensure that they adhere to the relevant regulations and procedures.
• Providing guidance and support to ensure that financial promotions best practice is embedded within the business.
• Providing guidance on the resolutions and remedial action required for business incidents
• Managing the process of and responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests received by the business within statutory timescales.
• Providing advice and guidance to complaints team on complex customer complaints and policy interpretation.

Person Specification

• In-depth knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations, codes of practice, guidance and industry best practice relating to advertising and customer communications applicable in the financial services industry
• Working knowledge of the FCA's rules relevant to retail financial services/cash deposits, in particular BCOBS, and the ASA codes of conduct for advertising.
• Experience of writing policies and procedures to ensure they are reflected correctly in
• customer comms and vice versa.
• Working knowledge of operational processes
• Good communication (both written and verbal) skills.
• Experience of writing policies and procedures.
• The ability to work well under pressure and be able to multi-task
• Excellent organisational skills and proven experience of meeting deadlines
• Understanding of the UK Legal Framework and the environment in which government departments operate
