Job description

Morgan Hunt is working with a charity based in London in search of a HR Advisor, who can hit the ground running!

This role would best suit someone with a comprehensive HR background including HR and Health and Safety guidance, support and expertise to managers and employees in line with Pact's Policies, best practise, and legislation. The Charity is a medium sized organisation with a very supportive team.


Role: HR Advisor

Organisation: Charity

Length of contract: 2 months (potential to be extended)

Pay: £17.67 to £19.75 per hour

Hours: 37.5 HOURS

Location: 5 days in the office located in Southeast London


Your role of HR Advisor will include:

  • You will give first line generalist advice around terms of conditions of employment and HR policies and procedures. (Policy, Practise, and legislation)
  • You will be involved with low level casework (probation, Performance, Fixed term contracts and grievances etc…)
  • You will advise on family friendly processes (Maternity, Paternity, adoption, and parental leave)
  • You will assist the HR Manager and HR Director with organising the annual appraisal process, managing all appraisal information and documentation, and holding information drop-in sessions for staff and managers.
  • You will provide advice and guidance on occupational health referrals, absence management issues and return to work cases to managers.
  • You will assist in the development or review of HR policy, procedure or guidance as required.
  • You will ensure all HR policies are fully implemented bringing any inconsistencies between policy and practice to the attention of the HR Manager.
  • You will review and provide advice on job descriptions working closely with the Senior HR Operations Coordinator
  • You will support the Senior HR Operations Coordinator with recruitment and participate in interview and assessment activities from time to time.
  • You will maintain and update employee records ensuring they are up to date and held securely in accordance with GDPR.

    Qualifications:

  • An Enhanced DBS
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Working knowledge of key employment legislation and best practice. / Awareness of latest developments within employment legislation
  • Clear understanding of HR practices and policies, their formation and purpose.
  • Proficient with IT including MS Office applications, and HR systems.


Experience:

  • Worked at a HR Advisor, HR People Partner level or equivalent.
  • High level of knowledge with MS Office
  • Experience of writing key HR policies and procedures.
  • Previously worked within a Charity
