Job description

Morgan Hunt is working with a College based South East London in search of an interim Communications Manager.

This role plays a crucial part in the communications team, specially on the internal communications, social media and events tasks.

Role: Communications Manager

Organisation: Further Education

Length of Contract: Temporary until end of academic year

Pay: £19.86 holiday pay per hour ( £22.25 per hour)

Hours: 37 hour a week

Location: Hybrid working, offices based in Orpington and Bromley.

Key responsibilities of the interim Communications Manager

  • Lead on the planning, development and coordination of internal communication strategies and channels, working in partnership with other key stakeholders as required.
  • Assist in developing and delivering outstanding content for internal and external communication strategies, campaigns and materials as required, across the Group portfolio.
  • Support the Group Director in the development and delivery of internal and external communications initiatives.
  • Support the design and delivery of the College local Press and PR strategy, working with the PR lead to help build the Colleges profile and reputation within London and the South east.
  • Act as the Account Manager ensuring that the communications needs and requirements of the schools, central services and the Trust senior team delivered to a high standard.
  • Line management of a Social Media Officer.

Previous experience of the interim Communications Manager

  • Experience working in education, preferably further education, within the Marketing and Communications function
  • Copy writing, proof reading and editing skills. Great understanding of social media.
  • Previous experience line managing is a benefit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience working alongside senior leadership.

This role offers an immediate start with hybrid working structure from offices in Orpington.
