Job description

Morgan hunt are seeking a qualified electrician to work within a leading University, located in London.

We are currently sourcing an Electrician with the following experience;

  • An Electrician with Commercial experience in maintenance
  • Planned and reactive maintenance work requests
  • Responsible for testing, maintenance and fault finding on all electrical engineering plant, equipment and services
    1. Provide a proactive and efficient standard of planned and reactive maintenance to mechanical and electrical plant and associated building management systems.

    1. Assess and evaluate the day-to-day operation of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems using software systems to assist with monitoring system performance, fault diagnosis and the identification of potential energy saving measures.

    1. Ensure contractors have appropriate risk assessments and method statements in place, issuing clear instructions to them and supervising their work whilst on site.

    1. Record measurable conditions (tap temperatures, meter readings etc.) and ensure water systems comply with L8 and service contractor records are up-to-date.

    1. Complete and record tasks via a CAFM (helpdesk) system. Work to agreed service delivery deadlines and inform relevant persons of any issues, making alternative arrangements where necessary.

    1. Deal with emergencies as and when they arise in respect to mechanical and electrical plant, deciding appropriate courses of action to resolve issues promptly.

    1. Communicate effectively via radio, phone and email. Carry out written and oral communication using standard IT software using Courtauld office software; Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel etc. when required.

    1. Be responsible for regular plant room inspections ensuring the same are secure and have appropriate signage and access to these is controlled.

    1. Ensure risks, hazards, issues and parts required are reported in a timely fashion to ensure a basic stock level is maintained to limit unnecessary delays with repairs.

    1. Be prepared to undertake training in areas relating to the duties outlined with specific reference to the Building Management System (BMS) and associated systems.

    1. Due to the nature of the role, there could be occasional requirements to work overtime. Wherever possible, reasonable notice will be given of such requirements.

    1. Be available (on a rota) to provide occasional out of hours working as and when required as a result of business needs, being either 5 days out of 7 working or emergency out of hours call-outs.

    1. To respect confidentiality and carry out all the duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post in a professional manner and with due regard to the importance of The Courtauld and in compliance with all of its policies, but especially Equal Opportunities, PREVENT, Safety and Health and Safety at all times.

    Pay: £20 - £24 PH Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
