Job Title: Floating Support Worker

Location: Westminster, London

Job Type: Temporary (3-month cover)

Working Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM

Job Description: We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and empathetic Floating Support Worker to join our team. As a Floating Support Worker you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive support to clients with complex needs, enabling them to maintain their tenancies and improve their overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of up to 25 key clients, conducting regular key working sessions to develop and review SMART support plans
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective risk management plans to ensure the safety and well-being of clients
  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns and incidents promptly, taking appropriate follow-up actions
  • Provide housing advice and assistance to clients, supporting them in sustaining their tenancies
  • Aid clients in accessing suitable courses or placements, facilitating their transition into work, education, or training
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to address client needs effectively
  • Promote and contribute to the visibility of client recovery within the schemes and, when applicable, co-deliver activities
  • Support clients in accessing healthcare services and improving their mental and physical health

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with homeless individuals with additional complex needs, including substance use and mental health challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to help vulnerable individuals identify personal goals and support them through the process of change
  • Experience managing challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Proven track record of working in partnership with various individuals and agencies to coordinate activities and achieve positive outcomes
  • Non-judgmental approach to working with vulnerable populations
  • Understanding of the support needs of people with low incomes, including rent payments and arrears
  • Strong boundaries and the ability to develop and maintain respectful and professional relationships
  • Familiarity with IT applications and basic keyboard skills, ensuring accurate record-keeping and effective administrative management
  • Previous experience in Floating Support is desirable
