Client:

My client is a Local Government organisation who are looking for an Application Support Engineer to support organisational change by assisting in the implementation and subsequent live support of a new Housing Management and Repairs application. You will require SQL skills for letter creation, in-application customisation, and database interrogating. You will also assist migrating from legacy file services to SharePoint and other Microsoft products.

Your Role:

• Providing user support from implementation to go live and beyond
• Set up and manage logins and security
• Troubleshoot process flows and IT configuration
• Create and maintain documentation on IT architecture and user documentation
• Maintain data quality across the IT system
• Manage batch processing and interfaces
• Interrogate the database, cleanse, and re-upload data
• Facilitate training and upskilling on the IT system
• Where required, developing SQL and writing of SQL reports
• Support users during the deployment of new applications and changes

What you need to be successful:

• Extensive experience of working in an ICT application support environment
• Substantial technical experience of Relational Database Management Systems, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL
• Work in a busy ICT team ideally using CRM for incident and service request management.
• Application support including the resolution of complex support issues in a complex legacy environment
• Support technical issues raised by Business Partners or other external technical stakeholders
• Working with suppliers and other technical resources in managing escalated issues

What you get in return:

• £300-350 per day
