IT Executive (2nd Line Support)

North London - Onsite

£32,000 - £35,000 (DOE) Excellent benefits Package

My client:

A Well-established Higher Education organisation are looking for a 2nd Line Support Executive to join the team and be responsible for being at the forefront of the support team and providing an efficient 1st line and 2nd line IT support. Collaborate with the Head of IT to maintain/implement infrastructure solutions.

Your role:

  • Manage printing solution - Papercut and suppliers with supplies and printer issues.
  • Manage Audio Visual systems, rely feedback on updates necessary from faculty staff and collaborate on projects with the Head of IT.
  • Projects - Assist on implementations at local level as directed by Head of IT.
  • Prepare and update the IT asset database
  • IT Systems administration in a Windows environment.
  • Assist users with the primary needs on the diverse areas of support: services, install/update specific software, AV facilities. Assist on preparation of training sessions for users;
  • Operate Management tools (Acronis, MS SCCM and ESET) in place to maintain services and hardware used on the daily bases by the IT department;
  • Assist in troubleshooting network related problems.
  • To support/maintenance of existing AV facilities;
  • Assisting the IT team with IT Spec for large AV & Electrical services.
  • Managing the installations, utilising engineers to carry out the physical installation
  • Commissioning IT Installations
  • Help grow the department and venture into larger projects
  • Support Academic staff, students and Programme office on daily basis issues and short training.

A successful IT Executive will have:

  • Experience in AD, DNS, DHCP, DFS, GPO.
  • Experience in VMware, Cisco & Meraki networking switches, VLANs, Gateway routers.
  • Experience with Azure solutions
  • Experience of migrating G-suite services to MS365
  • 3 Years minimum experience in working in a support team.
  • Previous experience of working with Papercut
  • Strong documentation skills and along with experience of dealing with a ITIL based support system
  • Linux experience will be advantageous
