Fire Compliance Surveyor

South London - Social Housing

Temporary role, £250-£300 per day


Morgan Hunt are working with a South London based Housing Organisation, currently looking for a qualified Fire Compliance Surveyor to join their Compliance team.

The role will entail inspecting and surveying properties for fire, asbestos and other relevant risks to comply with various regulations including the Fire Safety Regulations, Control of Asbestos Regulations and other associated legislation's.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Produce reports and generate subsequent remedial actions following inspections.
  • Formulate schedules of such remedial works and supervise service providers in undertaking them.
  • Carry out cyclical auditing to ensure premises are compliant. Communicate with the local housing manager and estate manager, reporting any areas of non-compliance by residents or potential dangers within estates.
  • Advise residents, managers and colleagues of fire safety protocol, as well as the relevant precaution and evacuation procedures.
  • Update relevant databases and risk registers.

About you:

  • Fire safety qualifications.
  • Understanding of the social housing industry and the importance of preventing and managing risks.
  • Knowledge and experience with fire safety and building engineering, active and passive systems.
  • Familiar with the risk assessment processes, risk mitigation and its application.
  • Experience with compliance relating to asbestos, fire and various other safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of specialist technical information regarding health and safety, with a focus on fire and asbestos.
  • Updated knowledge of changes in legislation and advise from the HSE.
