Job Title: Policy and Public Affairs Manager (Permanent)
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £35,500
I am proud to be working exclusively with a prestigious women's advocacy charity who are looking to recruit a 'Policy and Public Affairs Manager' on a permanent basis. As a Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you will play a crucial role in expanding the level of the charities' influence at the local and national level, with the aim of influencing policy outcomes designed to protect women and young girls from domestic abuse. You will also play a vital role in ensuring the voices of domestic abuse survivors are heard and that survivors are properly supported.
This role would be ideal for a candidate with experience in the charity sector sympathetic to feminism and women's rights. Candidates should have a solid understanding of parliamentary procedure with experience in horizon scanning, lobbying and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop policy recommendations supported by solid evidence aimed at addressing violence against women and young girls.
- Identify and solidify key stakeholder relations within Parliament and Whitehall to enhance the charities' influencing work.
- Represent the charity as a press spokesperson and in key policy forums to communicate policy positions whilst ensuring the voices of domestic abuse survivors are heard.
- Collaborate with service users, frontline teams and senior leadership teams to identify key policy priorities and respond to Government consultations.
- Create and implement national policy campaigns that affect changes in legislation and public attitudes towards domestic violence.
- Work closely with the communications and campaigns team to communicate policy developments to a diverse audience.
