Job Title: Professional Standards Development Facilitator

Job Type: Permanent (Part Time)

Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: £ 43,417.00 (pro rata)

I am working with a membership body which champions the skills and people within the counselling profession. This organisation is looking for a Professional Standards Development Facilitator on a part-time permanent basis. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Professional Standards to design and implement a strategy towards an evidence-based curricula for training, ethics and professional standards for counsellors and psychotherapists.

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage specific budget lines of the Professional Standards budget as determined by the Head of Professional Standards.
  • To collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including other professional bodies, training and service providers, members, academics and experts to determine curricula strategy.
  • To assist in the development of evidence-based specialist areas of competence and scope of practice for the counselling professions that define training and practice standards for the future.
  • Develop, deliver and disseminate a suite of accreditation, endorsement and approved qualification schemes underpinned by evidence-based competence frameworks and curricula.
  • To promote awareness of good code of conduct and ethical practice within the counselling profession.
  • To act as an representative of the organisation at external events.

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to MSc/MA level in counselling/psychotherapy (or other appropriate level for related professions), with knowledge of a range of counselling modalities.
  • BACP accredited (or equivalent) counsellor/psychotherapist
  • Experience in undertaking literature reviews, qualitative research and thematic analysis
  • Experienced trainer in counselling/psychotherapy practitioner training with knowledge and experience of writing level appropriate curricula, learning outcomes, assessment criteria and training materials.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills with an ability to present, communicate and engage at all levels either in person or using telephone/video conferencing.
  • Ability to establish rapport with key stakeholders and to facilitate good working relationships.
  • Experienced in planning, organising and project management, delivering to deadlines and service level agreements, coupled with the ability to be adaptable and flexible.
