Morgan Hunt have been retained to exclusively work alongside a specialist Human Rights law firm, based in the heart of London on the appointment of a Management Accountant to their experienced finance team.

The specialist Human Rights law firm who are based in the City of London are the leaders in their field and well recognised across the sector. In addition to this, they have future plans to continue this expansion internationally in line with an ambitious business plan.

They are currently recruiting a a qualified or finalist Management Accountant to join their finance team of 10 on a permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller and Finance Director of the firm, the Management Accountant role will play a key role in providing professional and timely accounting services in respect of management information, required system development and clean year end audit of accounts. The management accountant will also have a large involvement in the year end audit procedures as well as commercial management reporting and analysis to provide strategical insight in relation to business planning.

Key responsibilities for the successful Management Accountant:

• Ensure timely and accurate production and review of monthly management accounts, with analysis of budget variances performed.
• Compilation of ad hoc management information to support Matter Managers on proposals, pricing and managing write offs and their people
• Analysis of month end figures, including variances against budget and prior periods with Budget holders
• Production and first review of the monthly management accounts pack
• Provision and development of management information reporting
• Responsible for daily reporting of firm performance to senior management
• Assist in development of profitability and pricing tools

Key competencies of the successful Management Accountant:

• Fully qualified or actively studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Prior experience gained within a similar Management Accounting or Reporting role within the legal sector.
• Excellent user of systems including in depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Logical, with excellent organisational skills and good with number
• Great interpersonal and communications skills both upward and to the tea
• Self-disciplined with attention to detail, and ability to self-review
• Good team working skills at all levels of interaction
