Morgan Hunt are currently working with a well-known University, in their search for a Temporary Procurement Project Manager to manage the delivery of high strategical and operational practice across the organisation.

Job Title: Project Manager (Procurement)

Location: Hybrid

Day Rate: £254-368 per day

Job Type: Temporary (6 months)

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Start Date: ASAP

As a successful postholder you will be responsible for delivering a first class Procurement service which supports the organisations Sustainable Procurement Strategy. You will have experience of successful delivering full lifecycle projects, including defining scope and agreeing outcomes. You will be a pragmatic, influential and well-communicated Procurement Professional with strong management, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.

This position will offer a wide range of experience where you will have a strong impact on the future of the procurement function.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for project management and delivery of multiple and complex key strategic projects, in collaboration with subject matter experts, faculties and senior stakeholders:
• Confirming the project objectives, scope and deliverables
• Delivering the agreed project scope and managing any request for change
• Working with the wider team to define and secure project resource requirements
• Defining schedules, timescales and milestones to meet agreed timelines
• Working in a collaborative manor across the organisation and communicating challenges or opportunities to others who may be impacted by them
• Risk mitigation: managing project risks and issues and co-ordinate resolution
• Financial control: managing the project budget
• Reporting: providing progress updates and reporting as required by the Directorate and Programme team

Personal Specification

• Professional Project Management Qualification is desired but not essential
• Successful delivery of full lifecycle projects, including defining scope and agreeing outcomes
• Effective understanding of project management methodologies, principles and techniques to plan, monitor and progress projects to completion
• Ability to work with senior leaders and peers in a collaborative and consultative manner that enables successful delivery
• A practical and pragmatic individual, someone who can 'take the pain' out of process and governance, working closely with project colleagues and other business stakeholders
